This option has been made available specifically for those individuals who wish to allocate their Khums contributions toward Humanitarian Relief and obtain the required official religious receipt from Sayed Sistani's office.
As per the instructions of the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sistani, the IMAM organization will be allocating half of the Khums funds received through this channel to support a Humanitarian Relief project. The other half will be used to meet other religious needs, as guided by the Marja. This decision is in line with the directives given, and the organization is committed to following the orders of the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sistani. The Khums funds will be split evenly, with 50% going towards the relief project and the remaining 50% being utilized for various religious purposes.
This isn't something extra you have to pay on top of your Khums, it's just a way to choose where your Khums money goes. If you want to help people affected by disasters and crises, you can do that with your Khums and still fulfill your religious duty. You'll even get a receipt to prove you've met your obligations. It's a way to make sure your Khums is used for something that really matters to you, while still doing what you're supposed to do.
Getting a receipt is really important when it comes to paying Khums. Sayed Sistani has emphasized that if you don't get an official receipt from his office or someone he has authorized, you still haven't met your religious obligations. But when you pay through the right channels, you'll get that official receipt and you can be sure you've done what you're supposed to do. This way, you can have peace of mind knowing you've fulfilled your duty. It's not just about paying the Khums, it's about making sure it's done properly and that you have proof of it.
The distinction between Sayyids and non-Sayyids still applies within the distribution of this Khums. IMAM handles the proper allocation according to the rules of Khums jurisprudence, meaning the Sayyid share goes to eligible Sayyids and the Imam's share goes toward the authorized religious and humanitarian purposes as directed.
