Niyyah — Silently intend in your heart to perform Isha prayer, for God alone. Do not say it out loud.
Rak'ah 1
Raise hands to ears/shoulders and say Allahu Akbar.
Recite Al-Fatiha: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim, Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil 'Alamin, Ar-Rahmanir-Rahim, Maliki Yawmid-Din, Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in, Ihdinas-siratal mustaqim, Siratal ladhina an'amta 'alayhim ghayril maghdubi 'alayhim walad-dallin.
Then recite a surah of your choice, for example Surah Al-Ikhlas: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim, Qul huwa Allahu Ahad, Allahu Samad, Lam yalid wa lam yulad, Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.
Allahu Akbar — bow forward, hands on knees, back straight and angled, eyes looking down to where your forehead will touch. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-'Azim wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — stand back up.
Allahu Akbar — go down into sujood gradually, hands first, place your forehead on the turbah or natural ground. Eyes closed. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — sit up. Left leg flat, right foot over left leg, hands on thighs, back straight, eyes looking down to place of prostration.
Allahu Akbar — second sujood. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — stand up for Rak'ah 2.
Rak'ah 2

Then a different surah from Rak'ah 1, for example Al-Kawthar: Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim, Inna a'tainaka al-kawthar, Fasalli li Rabbika wanhar, Inna shani-aka huwa al-abtar.
Allahu Akbar — bow, hands on knees, back straight and angled, eyes down. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-'Azim wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — stand back up.
Allahu Akbar — go down into sujood, forehead on turbah or natural ground, eyes closed. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — sit up. Left leg flat, right foot over left leg, hands on thighs, back straight, eyes down.
Allahu Akbar — second sujood. Say Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la wa bihamdih.
Allahu Akbar — sit and remain seated. This is the first tashahhud. Recite:
Alhamdullilah wabillah wa khayr al-asma' al-husna lillah. Ashhadu al-la ilaha illa Allah. Wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah. Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa ali Muhammad. Assalamu wa alayaka ayyuhan-nabi wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Assalamu alayna wa 'ala ibadillahis-salihin.
Stop here — do not say the final salam yet. That is only for Rak'ah 4.
Allahu Akbar — stand up for Rak'ah 3.

Say 3 times: Subhanallah walhamdullilah wa la ilaha ila Allah wallahuakbar.
